Abstract of black and grey with a touch of yellow

Depression (c) Anita Morris 2013 $220

I suffer from depression. This work was inspired by the idea that even with treatment depression is a complex disease. There are good days and bad days. I chose shades of grey to combine with the obvious choice of black, to reflect this. Art gives me hope. The yellow is for the hope. I need that hope; I hang onto that hope with both hands when life seems bad. I know that only I can make the art I make and for that I need to keep living. Depression makes it more important to be socially connected. My art helps me connect with others as a topic of conversation. I have a number of friends and family who I share my art with on a regular basis.
