The crowd motif in my art

A mentor of mine recently observed that I have used the crowd motif recurringly. She encouraged me to pursue this. Syrian Saran Gas Attacks is the first result. Originally done in my sketchbook at the time of the attack because I saw it on the news and I needed to process it. Drawing it was catharsis. There’s a reason why I don’t usually watch the news. It’s been redrawn in pen and ink on shin hosho rice paper because of what my mentor said. I’m not sure this is what she expected when I said it.
