Learning from tasks you dislike

This was originally intended to be a sketch of diamonds covering the whole page. It was to be a precursor to a painting along the same lines. However drawing diamonds that size is repetitive. I dislike repetitive tasks. I get bored. It is also possible I associate repetition with frustrating life experiences like learning to read. I learned a few things from this sketch if I’m doing a repetitious art I’d rather be doing embroidery than drawing and that the painting I had hoped to do from the sketch won’t happen.
